Following Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at Woking, Gary Waddock gave his reaction to

The Shots’ boss said ‘We wanted a tough workout and we got one tonight. Woking are a good side and worked very hard and it was a good fitness exercise for us. These games are all about working hard and getting players fit and ready for the game against Darlington. We passed the ball well during the game, but got punished for a mistake. We have one friendly left on Saturday and we now focus on that prior to the start of the new season. I was pleased with certain aspects of our play and there are aspects to work on but all in all it was a useful exercise ‘

He also revealed his delight at the signings of Adam Hinshelwood and John Halls, ‘I am absolutely delighted to get both players, they are good quality players and they both know this division. It gives us more competition for places. The squad is improving but the budget dictates the size of the squad we can carry. We are always working to improve the team. It is clear that both players are good quality additions and it’s a big achievement to get players like them and Ben Herd on board.’ He said.

Aldershot’s pre-season preperations come to an end on Saturday with the visit of Chelsea XI to The Rec. Tickets are £10 for adults and £4 concessions, kick off is at 3pm.
