A wet and miserable day at The Fraser Eagle Stadium turned into a day filled with happiness and joy for the Aldershot fans as they prouced a confident display to record a win on their return to League Football.

Aldershot went into the game full of confidence, and rightly so. Aldershot saw much of the ball straight from the off, but wasted chances meant that the score stayed 0-0 for most of the 1st half.

A solid display at the back from the Aldershot defenders ensured Stanley saw no way through, and Nikki Bull produced a couple of fantastic saves to keep the Stanley strikers at bay.

The clinical moment of the half came when Aldsershot were awarded a free-kick just before Half Time, and up stepped my nomination for man-of-the-match Scott Donnelly, who cheekily dinked the ball over the wall to make the score 1-0.

The second half was much of the same, solid Aldershot defending, and constant threats from the Aldershot attackers. Stanley almost equalised close to full time, but Gary Waddocks side held out to record a memorable victory on their return the Football League.

Final Score; Accrington Stanley 0-1 Aldershot Town
