Speaking to BBC Surrey following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Hereford, Gary Waddock seemed pleased with both the performance and result, as two late goals rescued a point.

He said ‘The lads kept plugging away, I think we played really well today, and we deserved that in the end. To concede so early we could have possibly fallen apart, perhaps last year we would have done.

‘We could even have gone on to win it, but its a point gained when you’re 2-nil down. Never underestimate a point.

If you would have spun the results round, we’d probably have taken a point at Grimsby and won here today, so its another point to what we’ve got , and we move forward’

The Shots will look to build on this when Micky Adams brings his un-beaten Port Vale side to The Recreation Ground on Saturday.
