10 man Aldershot surrendered a 1-0 lead at the Prostar Stadium as they were beaten for a second week in a row.

The Shots got off to a perfect start when they took the lead after just 4 minutes. Sandell passed it to Soares who linked up with Morgan before firing home from 18 yards.

Aldershot had the better of the first half, but the Shrews equalised against the run of play just after the half an hour mark when Fairhurst scored from 10 yards out.

he turning point of the game came soon after when Shots defender Dave Winfield was given a straight red card following an altercation with Shrewsbury’s Lewis Neal.

With a man advantage the home side took the lead on the stroke of half time when Neal converted a free kick from the edge of the 18 yard box.

Nathan Elder made the game safe on the hour mark when he netted from close range.

Aldershot were unable to respond and fell to their second consecutive defeat against a play off rival and fell to 10th in the table. The fixtures don’t get any easier for Dodd’s side as they travel to the Don Valley Stadium to face Rotherham United next week.
