Jason Dodd takes charge of his second game as Aldershot’s caretaker manager, as they try to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointment at play off rivals Shrewsbury.

Dodd has now had his first week in charge of the team and will be desperate for his first win in charge.

Goalkeeper Mikael Jamiez-Ruiz should be fit to play after coming off during last week’s defeat against Bury. Captain Adam Hinshelwood should also be fit to play after he came off as well. Ben Herd is set to play against the club he made 163 appearances for.

Shrewsbury come into this game off the back of a shock 2-1 defeat at Darlington and were knocked out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy by Accrington in the week.

Aldershot have picked up just one win against Shrewsbury since re-forming in 1992. This came in 2004 at Gay Meadow as goals from Jon Challinor and Roscoe D’Sane secured the points. Of the five meetings between the sides, three have ended in a draw. Although the most high profile meeting came in the 2004 Conference play off final, which the Shrews won 3-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
