Following three away games in a week, Aldershot Town are back at home on Saturday afternoon as Sammy McIlroy’s Morecambe side travel to the Recreation Ground.

Aldershot have picked up just one point from their two away games since the 4-1 win over Cheltenham two weeks ago. A 1-1 draw at Torquay followed that result, but a 7 match unbeaten run was ended by Lincoln City on Saturday. Morecambe drew for the third time in a row last week, drawing 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury Town. Draw specialists Morecambe have drawn 8 of their opening 11 games, which sees them currently occupying 21st place in the table. Their low league position will be mainly due to the fact that they’ve only managed one win all season, which came at home to Notts County in Sol Campbell’s only appearance for the Magpies.

Marvin Morgan will be available for selection following a one match suspension, but Dean Parrett is still on duty for England under 19’s. John Halls and Andy Sandell are back in training, but manager Gary Waddock says that ‘the Morecambe match may be a touch too soon for them.’

Morecambe certainly have the upper hand in this fixture, winning 6 of the 10 meetings between the two sides since they first met in the Conference in 2003/04. Aldershot’s only ever win over the Shrimps came in February 2006 when goals from Jonnny Dixon and Leroy Griffiths secured a 2-0 win. Last season Morecambe did the double over the Shots, winning both matches 2-0.
