Andy Scott has done his best today to try and put the focus on Aldershot back onto the pitch with all the off pitch distractions and uncertainties.

Speaking to the BBC the manager said he believed that the 10 point deduction would help focus the team on winning matches and that it should help ‘galvanise’ the squad.

‘Being on -10 might galvanise the squad and make sure we have to go out and win games.’

Whilst it’s far from ideal, Scott has begun pre season with a grand total of two senior players on our roster following the redundancies the other month, but the 40 year old is taking the positive and focusing on the fact that as it’s a blank sheet in effect, he can mould the squad and target only committed players.

‘It’s going to be difficult because there’s not a lot of money. It’s going to be challenging, but I’ll only want players who are committed, from my point of view, when I came in there was a lot of players who weren’t.’
