It has been confirmed that Jason Dodd will take over in a caretaker role, assisted by Paul Williams.

Aldershot have had to act swiftly to replace the out-going Gary Waddock and Martin Kuhl who left for Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.

Jason Dodd had a year in charge at Blue Square South outfit Eastleigh, before taking on a coaching role at Southampton. He also had a spell as joint-caretaker manager at the Saints in 2008, but was released by the south coast club in the summer.

He will be assisted by Paul Williams, who played for Derby, Coventry, Southampton and Stoke during his playing career. He finished his playing career in the USA with Richmond Kickers and also had a season in charge of Fredericksburg Gunners.

Their first match in charge will be Saturday’s huge League Two clash at home to Bury.
