After recieving a bye in the 1st round, Aldershot Town face a trip to Edgar Street tonight, looking to progress to the area quater finals.

New loan-signing Antonio German will be in the squad, but the manager has confirmed that the fixture has come too soon for John Halls and Andy Sandell, who will continue training.

Gary Waddock has been telling of the importance of progressing well in this competition, with the financial reward of a trip to Wembley a possibility. He pointed towards the Setanta Shield success in 2007/08, saying Our approach in the Setanta Shield in our Conference winning season worked well and I have said from day one that it is all about the squad and knowing that they are all prepared.

Last season Aldershot were knocked out by Swindon in the 1st round, losing on penalties following a 2-2 draw. Funnily enough, Hereford were also eliminated by Swindon in te 2nd round, following a bye in round one.

After a slow start to the season, the Bulls are finally starting to pick up points, including an impressive win over leaders AFC Bournemouth in the week.
