Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon has been speaking to the club’s official site and expressed his delight over Tuesday’s win over Northampton, but admits that his side were fortunate on the night.

He admits that ‘Northampton were the better team in every department in the first half’ and said he was relieved to be just a goal down at the break.

At half time a double substitution was made and Dillon said ‘I felt that the spare man that we had in midfield wasn’t working and we matched things up in the second half.’

The penalty decision changed the game and the Shots manager admitted ‘I would have been annoyed if the penalty had been given against us’

He went on to say that he’d have had ‘no complaints’ with a 1-1 draw at full time and concluded by saying ‘Marvin scored a great goal at the end to win the match. We haven’t played that well in this match but I will take a victory any time. It changes the whole reflection because the lads are buzzing in that changing room.’
