Former Aldershot Town skipper Rhys Day has signed for Conference outfit Oxford United after being released at the end of the season.

Rhys was one of several players released at the end of the season after making over 100 appearances and captaining the side that won promotion in 2007/08.

After putting in some impressive performances for the Yellows in pre-season Day has signed a two-year contract with the Conference side.

He’ll be a very good player for Oxford as they bid to get back into the Football League and we wish Rhys Day all the best.
