Shots boss Kevin Dillon has announced today that his assistant will be 41 year old Gary Owers.

As a player, Gary played for Sunderland, Bristol City and Notts County. He also played for and managed at non-league sides Forest Green, Bath City and Weston-super-Mare. He has also been involved in coaching roles at Bristol City and Portsmouth.

He played in the 1992 FA Cup final for Sunderland as they lost against Liverpool.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Dillon commented ‘Gary is a proper grafter and has gained extensive experience not just as a player but also in management, coaching and on the academy side too. I am looking forward to working with him.’
