Alex Rodman has spoken to the Official Site after being ruled out for the season after suffering a pulmonary embolism.

‘It was weird really. I was feeling fine and yet there I was with this serious condition. At first I needed to have daily treatments of an injection to raise my blood levels and a daily blood test and it was good to be near my friends and family.’

Rodman adds that he drove himself to Solihull hospital and when they got there they were horrified with him, as he should’ve taken an ambulance to make the journey. Despite being closer to friends and family, he does admit he’s missing the club and the lads and he’s hoping to get down as soon as he can to catch up with people.

He’s now on warfarin and as a consequence can’t take part in any sort of contact sport in case he sustains a cut or an injury. He will however next week begin fitness work again to start building himself back up as he’s hoping he can be back in contention come next pre season.
