Aldershot Town came from behind to claim a point to keep their unbeaten home record intact against Port Vale on Saturday.

Gary Waddock was forced to make two changes from the side that drew with Hereford last week, as Anthony Charles and Danny Hylton made their first starts of the season in place of Adam Hinshelwood and Ben Harding, who were both out injured.

It was the visitors that started the brightest and took a deserved lead after 23 minutes, when Robert Taylor latched onto to a through ball to place a low shot past Ruiz in the Aldershot goal.

Vale had numerous chances to extend their lead, but on 38 minutes Aldershot equalised against the run of play. Louis Soares recieved the ball on the edge of the box, he then cut inside before finishing low into the corner.

This goal gave the Shots the boost they needed and had chances to take the lead before the break.

Kicking towards the East Bank in the second half Aldershot took control of the match. There were numerous chances to snatch a winner, with Kirk Hudson coming closest 10 minutes after the restart. Morgan did well before squaring the ball to Hudson at the far post, and with the goal gaping he somehow managed to shoot into the side netting.

Marvin Morgan had an effort blocked on the line, but Aldershot failed to make the break through and the points were shared.
