A brace from John Grant and goals from Andy Sandell and Scott Donnelly gave Aldershot Town an emphatic Boxing Day victory over Barnet, as the Shots bounced back from the thrashing at Burton.

The deadlock was broken, against the run of play, after 36 minutes. Marlon Jackson’s cross from the right was turned in by John Grant, although it looked as if the Barnet defender could have had the last touch.

There was no disputing the second goal, just before the hour mark as Grant cut inside from the right before guiding the ball into the far corner to score his 3rd goal in 2 games.

The points were made safe 5 minutes later as Andy Sandell smashed a 20 yard free kick into the top corner.

Scott Donnelly rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot after a foul on Adam Hinshelwood.

It was an dominant display from Aldershot, as they claimed a comfortable Boxing Day win over Barnet for the 2nd year in a row. The Shots are up to 5th in the league and it looks like being a very Merry Christmas at the Recreation Ground.
